Curriculum

Course outline

Module 1 — Principles of radiation protection

The module introduces radiation safety fundamentals. You can learn how exposure can be controlled through time distance and shielding along with the importance of the ALARA Principle for keeping radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.

Module 2 — Dosimetry & monitoring

Radiation monitoring is an important part of workplace safety. The module powers personal dosimeters, area monitoring exposure records and the correct use of monitoring procedures to help track and manage radiation exposure.

Module 3 — Safe practice & emergency response

The module focuses on practical safety measures when working around radiation producing equipment. You will learn about equipment specific precautions, how to recognize possible events and the steps to follow during over exposure or other radiation incidents.

Assessment & certification

Written assessment. Successful candidates receive their QR-verified DIMS certificate.
