Course outline

Module 1 — ECG basics & lead placement

The module introduces the basics of cardiac electrical activity and the conduction system. You can learn the purpose of 12 lead ECG and how to position electrodes correctly to obtain an accurate recording.

Module 2 — Systematic rhythm reading

A consistent approach can make ECG interpretation easier and more organized. The module covers assessment of rate, rhythm, axes, and intervals. It gives you a structured method for reviewing an ECG strip and identifying abnormalities.

Module 3 — Arrhythmia recognition

This module focuses on recognizing common cardiac arrhythmias. You will learn how to identify important atrial and ventricular rhythms and understand the features that can help distinguish between rhythm patterns.

Module 4 — Critical patterns

STEMI recognition and lethal arrhythmia identification.

Assessment & certification

Some ECG findings require rapid clinical attention. This module covers recognition of systemic patterns and potentially lethal arrhythmias along with the importance of promptly escalating significant or concerning findings.
